Homosexuality is still a delicate issue in Chile, they are discriminated because of their sexual choices and I think this is a barbaric behavior and has to stop. Unfortunately, religion is part of the problem because they still say that love is only between a man and a woman, and preach this obsolete thought to believers; It is true that this is not in all cases, there are some churches and priests who respect people for what they are and not for what they like, but still are a small percentage. I believe that if our society wants to be a developed one, it is necessary to lose the prejudices towards peoples sexuality, color, nationality, etc.
When I was in school I met my three best friends, whom I loved from day one, with them I had the best last years of history school, it was fun, we danced, we escaped, we got suits, so many things that they did My life much happier The three of them are homosexuals, and they have never let anyone abuse them for it, the only time a boy bothered one of them we screamed until the inspector arrived and agreed with us, it was incredible.
I have never been a religious person, so it is difficult for me to understand the reasons they might have to discriminate gays, it doesn't add up, I mean, how can paradise be worth it if you have to suppress every desire you have to live a "Richer life," how could God want this, I do not think he would agree with his followers, I actually believe that religion uses God to describe a way of being that they invented, to eliminate things with The ones that do not agree, It's an act of being human, not God.
I think it's incredible that some churches are changing this way of thinking, because Chile is still a religious country, and people need to hear (from whom they see it as an authority) that being different is really good, and there's no reason to treat anyone different. I think our generation sees that the differences are really good, that anyone has the right to be and do what he/she/it wants, as long as he doesn't hurt anyone. We are free to be our selfes, my biggest belief is that to be more developed as a society it's necessary to eliminate all prejudices about the physical and sexual characteristics of people
The religious always resist one of the changes because their values were built in another time, one could say that religions are conservative, that is why they are often discriminatory when societies change
ResponderEliminarThe worst part is that all of the religions are very hypocrite. They are supposed to give a message of love but there is always some kind of discrimination :[

ResponderEliminarThe Catholic Church is full of contradictions. They're scandalized by homosexual relationships but they make 'deaf hatred' in cases of sexual abuse of minors.
ResponderEliminarDiscrimination is a big issue here, I get indignated about it too. And also it's terrible that churches help it increase
