Bjork is an Icelandic songwriter who has made her brilliant career internationally, her original music moves from jazz to electronic to experimental music. She has also explored the world of cinema, in which she starred in a film by Lars von Trier called "Dancer in the Dark." Her concerts and video clips are theatrical performances and her style is constantly changing
When I was a child I remember watching her concerts on VHS with my parents and imitate her dancing and her singing. Her originality and her passion was transmitted by the way she acted. And not only her, but her band also showed much love for the music and the moment. One of the things I love the most is that they use weird things that works like an instrument, for example: a person stepping on white sand.
In the film "Dancer in the Dark", she showed a side of her that, for me, gave her a new sound, the tragic story about an almost blind woman who's deceive by a friend that stole her savings and then... I don't want to spoil it, but the way she sings while the story advances it's impressive, you can feel her sadness. It's a hole new side of her, where she isn't jumping and dancing, it's so much more controlled and innocent, I believe it's an incredible movie.
Nowadays, she has become kind of an Icon for me, her originality and passion mark my way of singing and feeling things, even more, my objective it's to make people feel, so much better if they dont even know what they're feeling. I think Bjork it's something like that, you don't know exactly what it is, but she just makes you want to move, and that's awesome
It´s kinda cool that artists reinvent themselves. I never listen to Björk, but, for what you said, reminds me a bit of Radiohead, that are really really impressive (and I love that she is from Iceland :3)
