This picture was taken in Ventanas, a place in the Fifth Region of Chile.
Last year a friend told me that he wanted to do a documentary about pollution at a place called Ventanas, I don't really get out much of Santiago, so I was very excited.
For a few months we went there and began recording with different people who shared their time in an organization against the installation of more industries in their territory.
This is how we met Camila, Juancho, Pacha. Mariela and Leche, five friends who loved their land and who decided to fight to have a decent way of life and stop exposure to metals and contaminants in the air.
One of the recordings, we were invited to a place on a hill and when we got there it was full of cows, I couldn't believe it, I had never seen a cow so close in my life, it was really great.
While my friends where locating the camera I was actually paralized recording the sounds that the cows were making. After a while, Juancho told me that we should go with the others because the cows could get angry, so I stop the recording and we returned to the group.
To sum up, I had a wonderful time recording the cows and I was even happier to have met the animal up close.
Someone told me that cows are responsable to create a lot of pollution because they make methane gas or something like that. I don't remember who told me, I'm sure that it was a vegetarian tho...
